The essential green juice recipe is the only smoothie recipe you need to have at your fingertips to drink your way to good health.

the essential green juice recipe

With the majority of ingredients being veg, there’s a lot less sugar in it and it’s an easier way to get your veg intake, especially if you’ve got a busy London lifestyle. It also keeps you feeling full for longer so having this first thing in the morning if you don’t have time for a sit down breakfast is ideal. It also doubles up well as a mid-afternoon snack – ensuring you don’t reach for the chocolate bar at the dangerous 3.30pm snacking hour.

For this recipe, we love broccoli for the fact it can help reduce cholesterol levels – one of the causes of cardiovascular disease, the UK’s biggest killer. And spinach does its jobs too – it is rich in iron and vitamin K which is needed for good bone health.

The addition of Aduna’s Baobab powder boosts the fibre content and it also contains 14 essential vitamins and minerals which help busy Londoners with their mood, stress, immune system, digestion, skin health and ageing.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup chopped raw broccoli
  • 1/2 cup spinach
  • 1/2 cup ripe strawberries
  • 1 tsp Aduna Baobab powder
  • 2 cups coconut water
Method
  1. Put all ingredients into a bowl or blender, ensuring all fruit and veg is covered by the coconut water. Add more if necessary.
  2. Blend together for around 20 seconds until smooth.
