HOT OFF THE PRESS: Daybreaker LDN – The Future Is Feminine

March 5, 2019 by Hannah Cox Leave a Comment

HOT OFF THE PRESS// Daybreaker LDN – The Future Is Feminine is tomorrow, the 6th March. Grab your yoga mats and head down to the Queen of Hoxton for a 6am yoga class, followed by dancing until 9am! Tickets are almost sold out, so be quick to secure your spot.

Back in December, Healthy Living London went to Daybreaker LDN – All the Gear Snow Idea event hosted at Queen’s Skate, Dine and Bowl. We dug out our retro skiwear and hit up the ice-rink for a 6am skating lesson, followed by a disco on ice. Participants could skate the morning away, or don shoe-grips and dance on the ice. We, of course, opted for the skates and twirled the morning away, gliding through the ‘snow’ storm!

The atmosphere was alive and the energy was happy and positive, even midweek at 6am! South London Samba were on hand to get the party started with funky drum beats, as we followed behind, conga-style, skating to the beat. A trumpet player also had us following behind him, like lemmings, as we danced on the ice and then the DJ kept us spinning until 9am.

Throughout the event, breakfast snacks, such as Rude Health Granola, were on hand to keep us energised. There was plenty of choice, and supplies, to keep everyone going from 6am – 9am. We especially loved Chillio’s pink grapefruit and ginger sparkling water. Refreshing and delicious, though I suspect this would be even better as a mixer with gin, later in the day!

Chillio – a sparkling water range that is delicious.

What We Thought:

It’s rare that you will get me up this early if there isn’t a flight to some exotic destination, however, we loved getting up for Daybreaker LDN, as this early morning skate and disco was really fun. The atmosphere was electric and everybody was smiling. Plus, the commute home was funny. So many sleepy, bewildered faces, as I, bright-eyed and bushy tailed, with my bejewelled face and colourful skiwear, made my way home during the morning rush hour!

Who Should Go:

Anyone looking for a morning wake-up call that is unlike any other. Daybreaker LDN – The Future Is Feminine, begins with a yoga class… so slightly less intense than a skating lesson! It is then followed by dancing until 9am. You can go alone, as you are bound to make friends, or you can take your tribe.

What Should You Bring:

If you have tickets to Yoga, take your own mat. Plus, anything that you normally take to a class, such as a water bottle and towel. Also, get involved in the theme with fancy-dress. Anything that is ‘Feminine’ or the website suggests to wear something that nods to the future, such as intergalactic gear, metallic leggings, robo hats…
