TRIED & TESTED // Digme Covent Garden

September 12, 2020 by HelloFitty Leave a Comment

Digme is a chain of top-class fitness studios in London, that offers a variety of classes, such as HIIT, yoga, strength, outdoor classes, and also a free run club! However, Digme is most known for their indoor cycling classes, for which they rank as one of the top spin studios in London. Digme recently acquired Another Space in Covent Garden, and this allowed them to introduce another new concept to their range: Combat HIIT. We tried & tested their Rhythm Spin and their new Combat HIIT class in the new studio, and here is what we think…

The Studio Ambience

The studio space is lovely and bright. The studio rooms nicely fit into a miniature space, in a manner that does not disrupt either class going on. The yoga studio has a lovely tinted glass, which creates a sense of peace and helps you get into the right mind-set for your class and reinforces that mind-body connection. Most of the instructors and staff are from a performance background, so the atmosphere in the classes and the whole studio is very relaxed, but energetic at the same time. This fitness space is just a very pleasant and welcoming space to be in, and helps you build your mind-body connection.

Rhythm (Spin Class)

We have reviewed Digme spin before, in Top 5: London Spin Studios . We did a different class concept back then, called Beat, which no longer exists, but is similar to Perform. For us, a spin class has to be all about the music and moving to the beat, the whole experience needs to be about connecting with your body through the power for music. Rhythm was exactly that. It placed the focus on what you feel in the moment, and the rhythm of music in the studio. Compared to other spin studios, there could have been more and slightly more complex choreography. However, for a beginner, this is the perfect class, that will not scare you away or confuse you. This class will make you want to return and ride again.

Combat HIIT

Personally, I love boxing classes, they are possibly one of my favourite ones. You get to hit a boxing bag, get all your stress and anger out, but not hurt anyone else at the same time either. In addition to the stress relief, you get to punch away at the bag in cool lighting, to some booming music tracks, and with an attentive instructor by your side, to correct your technique. This class was full of energy, and I came out of it feeling like I have given it all, and my body still hurt 2 days later. The instructor was very good at explaining the exercises and combinations on the bag. He added some interesting unconventional combos in there, which made the class challenging for both the mind and body. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would 100% recommend, and am actually planning to go back very soon.

Combat HIIT was so good, Daria’s planning on going back for more!

Facilities

The studio facilities are in great condition, with a lot of shower cabins, a changing locker room with a lot of lockers. The staff is helpful, explains everything and shows you around the studio upon arrival. We reviewed the studio during the times of the Covid-19 pandemic, when the attention to hygiene and sanitisation is very high. Each studio is sanitised fully before the next class, and the changing rooms are cleaned on a regular basis. Really pleased with how safe and tidy it felt to be in the facilities.

Final Thoughts

We loved the Digme Covent Garden new studio, and both classes that we did. The studio atmosphere really makes the visit special, and the friendly staff do help you feel at home. Both classes were really fun and we certainly recommend checking them out, and especially the Combat HIIT.

We would like to thank Digme for inviting us to review their studio and providing us with this great fitness experience.
